I've Been Lookin At 'Em

Tuesday, December 04, 2007

Dear Constant Reader,

I've been pricing coffee makers, and I've decided that I'm actually better off sticking with instant coffee for now.
I just don't see the point in buying something that makes an entire pot of the fucking stuff when I really only drink about three cups a day.
If I did invest in one of these fucking things I'd probably end up wasting more coffee than I actually ended up drinking.

Ugh on the instant coffee. You are shopping for the wrong product. If you specifically want a coffee maker that can make a cup coffee anytime you desire one check out the Black & Decker Brew & Go coffee maker. It is very reasonably priced (under $15 USA). I received one has a gift 15 years ago and still use it today.

There are many styles of these 1 cup coffee makers available today so you do have options. You can even grind your own beans for the "bestest" ;-) cup of coffee if you choose to do so.

Real coffee drinkers don't drink instant ;-)

Umm.. okay well I'm not going to get into specifics on models and stuff, cuz that'd be just plain nerdy. I think much like you, and I used to do the instant coffee thing. Then my Dad suggested I do what he does. Buy one of those thermal carafe things.. you can get them pretty cheap. Make a pot of coffee in a REAL coffee maker and put what you don't drink in the carafe. It's warm ALLLLL day and the next morning you can just warm it up for 40-45 seconds by the cup in the microwave...

I prefer "geek" rather then "nerd" :o)

Your dad's suggestion is great also. As long as you don't mind using a cancer-causing microwave to warm it up the next day.

Another option.. I also keep a box of the Maxwell single serving coffee bag thingamagigies. You know, just like a tea bag only with coffee? Boil the water and add the bag... tastes like the regular java, not the instant stuff. (if you are worried about the cancer boil it on the stove.. butthe carcinogens released by the heated pan might do you in... so YOU will have to make that choice!)
